Dr Sara Omaya Agak,
Executive Member

Dr Sara Omaya Agak is the Operations Director and Company Pharmacist at Laborex Kenya Limited since March 2017. She oversees procurement, importation and reception of pharmaceuticals, stock management, warehousing and dispatch as she is the company liaison for all operational activities.

Broadly, she ensures efficient service delivery for the company and manages all aspects of Pharmacovigilance in partnership and with guidance from suppliers.

Previously, she was the Lead Pharmacist in Quality Improvement at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital and was in charge of Casualty Pharmacy at The Mater Hospital.

She is an Executive Committee Member at the Kenya Association Pharmaceutical Industry (KAPI).

Dr Sara has leadership experience from her decade-long career working for renown hospitals as the Chief Pharmacist and often department head. She served as the Chair of HOPAK (Hospital Pharmacists Association of Kenya) and has been a part of different boards such as the Pharmacy and Poisons Board Kenya and Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (Hons) from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and is currently pursuing two Masters degrees in Health Systems Management and in Business Administration from Kenya Methodist University and Strathmore University respectively.

Her notable works include co-authoring The Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital Safety Booklet and she played a role in steering the hospital towards attaining The Joint Commission International Accreditation.
